Ugalde is entering his first season as the volunteer assistant for the Alabama Tennis program after being hired in August 2018. Most recently, Ugalde comes from Jacksonville State where he was a graduate assistant for two years with the men’s and women’s tennis teams. During his time with the Gamecocks, he helped both the men’s and women’s team achieve their highest ranking in their respective programs in the 2018 season.
During his collegiate career, Ugalde played tennis all four years at North Carolina Wesleyan College, while earning the USA South Conference Tournament MVP in 2014 and being named team captain during his senior season.
In 2016, he graduated from Wesleyan with a degree in business administration and a minor in accounting. Ugalde is originally from Queretaro, Mexico, and will be pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration in December 2018 from Jacksonville State. He currently resides in Tuscaloosa.
