Football Ticketing Frequently Asked Questions

Ticket Request and Allocation
- If I opt in for tickets for the 2020 season, am I guaranteed to receive tickets?
- No. Depending on the number of ticket requests received, it is possible that some current season ticketholders will not be offered a 2020 ticket package due to the reduced capacity requirement. Tickets will be allocated by Tide Totals priority points after the opt-in period has ended.
- If I opt in for tickets for the 2020 season, will I receive the same seats I've had in the past?
- No. In compliance with CDC and state public health guidance, seating in Bryant-Denny Stadium for the 2020 Alabama football season will be social-distanced resulting in approximately 20% seating capacity, thus seat locations will be forced to change for the 2020 season. Seat locations will be assigned in order of Tide Totals points of only those customers who opt-in for tickets.
- If I opt out of tickets for the 2020 season, will my 2021 season tickets be affected?
- No. Eligibility for 2021 season tickets will not be affected if you opt-out of tickets for the 2020 season.
- If I opt out of tickets for the 2020 season, will I be offered an opportunity to purchase 2020 postseason tickets, if applicable?
- Priority for any postseason ticket opportunities will be given to those customers who purchased 2020 regular season tickets. Postseason tickets may be offered to other TIDE PRIDE members if seats are still available.
- What is the timeline (sequence) of events related to ticket opt in, allocation process and prior payment conversion to a refund or gift to the Crimson Core Fund?
-
August 18 – 28 Opt-in period
Patrons will either request to opt-in to a season package (full or partial), or request to opt out of 2020 season tickets. This process must occur online at (link) with your online account/password.
August 29 – September 7 Seat allocation period
Seats will be allocated based upon Tide Totals priority points for TIDE PRIDE members, years of service for faculty/staff members, last year lettered for A-Club/Lettermen.
September 8 Ticket fulfillment emails sent
Emails will be sent to all patrons who requested tickets notifying you of the ticket package that has been allocated to you.
September 8 – September 21 Payment conversion (refund/donate) period
Based upon the seat allocation you may have an available credit of your previous TIDE PRIDE or ticket purchase. Each patron will need to log into their online account and choose the amount of your credit for refund or donation.
- What happens if I do not request tickets during the opt-in period?
- If you do not take action by September 7, the end of the opt-in period, you will automatically be opted-out of tickets for the 2020 season. You will then have the option to donate some or all of your remaining credit to the Crimson Core Fund or to receive the credit as a refund.
- Why is the season ticket price different than it has been in the past?
- Season ticket and partial package pricing for each tier includes both the TIDE PRIDE contribution and ticket price. TIDE PRIDE clubs have been consolidated into five tiers. Depending on the club, the total cost of a seat in each tier may be higher or lower than it had been in the past.
- When will I know whether I qualify for a full season ticket package or partial package?
- Full season ticket packages will be allocated by Tide Totals priority points. After full season ticket packages have been allocated, partial packages will be allocated by Tide Totals points. The allocation of tickets will begin after the 10-day opt-in period has ended and it is known which customers wish to secure tickets for the 2020 season. The results of the allocation process will be communicated approximately around September 8.
- If I qualify for a full season ticket package, how many season tickets can I purchase?
- Customers who qualify for a full season ticket package may purchase up to four tickets. Larger quantities are not available due to social distancing requirement/reduced stadium capacity.
- If I qualify for a partial package, how many tickets can I purchase?
- Customers who qualify for a partial package may purchase up to two tickets. Larger quantities are not available due to social distancing requirements.
- I have a balance remaining on my account after receiving or canceling my tickets. What can I do with the balance?
-
- Donate the entire balance to the Crimson Core Fund.
- Donate a portion of the balance to the Crimson Core Fund and receive the remaining amount as a refund.
- Elect to receive the entire balance as a refund. The refund will be processed within six weeks.
- What happens if I do not select an option for the remaining balance on my account?
- If your account has a balance after you are allocated tickets or cancel your tickets, you will be given an option to donate the balance to the Crimson Core Fund or to receive a refund. If you do not select an option during the payment conversion period allotted (September 8 – September 21), your balance will automatically be donated to the Crimson Core Fund.
- What happens if circumstances require a game to be canceled or to prohibit spectators from attending?
- If circumstances change during the season and spectators are unable to attend a game that is included in your season ticket or partial package, the value of that game will be credited to your account. You will then have the option to donate some or all of the credit to the Crimson Core Fund or to receive a refund.

At the core of Alabama Athletics' mission is a commitment to the total support of the educational, athletic and personal development of our student-athletes, which is in alignment with The University of Alabama's goal of providing a premier undergraduate and graduate education that offers a global perspective and is characterized by outstanding teaching, high-quality scholarship and distinctive curricular and co-curricular programs.
Many critical components of the student-athlete experience are typically funded by revenues generated from football TIDE PRIDE contributions and ticket sales. A reduction in seating capacity at Bryant-Denny Stadium this fall means less revenues to support the aforementioned critical components of the student-athlete experience.
The Crimson Tide Foundation and Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne have established the Crimson Core Fund in direct response to the financial challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Though Alabama Athletics has implemented cost containments including reductions in operating budgets for all of our departments and sports, a freeze on vacant non-coaching positions as well as facility operating and energy savings, these savings alone are not enough to make up the difference. Donations to the Crimson Core Fund will help cover the costs associated with scholarship benefits, academic support, leadership development, nutrition and dining, sports medicine and strength and conditioning. Generating philanthropic support to cover these expenses this fiscal year is absolutely crucial to our strategic priorities of achieving academic and competitive excellence and providing for the welfare of our student-athletes.
Contributors to this fund will receive three (3) Tide Totals priority points per $100 donated. With your gift, you will affirm the value of a University of Alabama education and help ensure that Alabama Athletics' tradition of academic and competitive excellence, as well as its comprehensive student-athlete experience, continues despite these challenging times.
- I don't feel comfortable coming to the games due to COVID-19. If I do not request tickets for 2020, will I still be a TIDE PRIDE member in 2021?
- Yes. Anyone who opts out of receiving tickets in 2020, will have their seats offered to them in 2021.
- Will I have the opportunity to purchase any road game tickets? If I did request road game tickets during the spring renewal process, what happens to the prior order and money paid?
- Unfortunately, with the reductions in capacity across the Southeastern Conference, we will not be able to fulfill road game ticket requests. Therefore, any road game ticket requests made in the spring renewal process will be automatically added to the ticket amount to be refunded (or converted to a gift to the Crimson Core Fund).
- What if I don't want season tickets this year? How do I "opt-out"?
- All season ticket holders will have the option to "opt-out" of 2020 tickets by making a notation during the online "opt-in" period (August 18 – 28).
- I am a participant in a skybox. How do I get my tickets?
- You will need to communicate directly with the skybox holder of record in order to determine if you will receive tickets via the skybox of which you are a participant and any skybox donation credit allocations.
- My tickets have traditionally been in a club that receives a parking pass. Will I still get a parking pass if my seats for 2020 aren't in my normal club?
- Your prior 2019 TIDE PRIDE Club does not influence your parking availability. Instead, you may request a parking pass, but because on campus parking will be limited, all parking passes will be awarded by Tide Totals priority points.
- I have seats in one of the premium seating areas. Will I be able to remain in my premium area for 2020?
- All current premium seat holders will have the option to select the 2020 "Premium" price point, however, allocation to all premium areas will be made by Tide Totals priority points.
- How will common areas in club areas be impacted?
-
Champions Club, Terrace Club, Ivory Club, and North/South Zones
Seating in the Champions and Terrace Clubs as well as the North/South Zones will be determined by Tide Totals priority points. Additional premium seating protocols (food menus, access etc.) will be communicated at a later date after ticket allocation.
Field Suites
Patrons who initially renewed a field suite package will have the option to receive a limited quantity of tickets (4 for a full season, or 2 for a partial season package) based on Tide Totals priority points.
Scholarship Club
Due to state health regulations, we cannot offer the Scholarship Club Room as an amenity in 2020.
A-Club Room
Due to state health regulations, we cannot offer the A-Club Room as a gathering and eating place for the 2020 season.
Stadium Club
Due to state health regulations, we cannot offer the Stadium Club as an option for the 2020 season. Any patron who made a prior payment/request for Stadium Club Room passes will have this amount refunded or can elect to convert the amount to the Crimson Core Fund.
- Can I choose the tier(s) in which I am interested in requesting tickets?
- No. All requests will be evaluated by Tide Totals priority points. Tiers and seat locations will be assigned accordingly based on your priority.
- Is there a chance the price tier allocated could be a higher or lower priced tier than my original tickets? Example, I normally sit in the lower bowl (which would be price tier #1), but was assigned price tier #3 (lower bowl north or south end zone).
- Yes, all seat allocation will be based upon evaluation of all ticket requests amongst price tiers and Tide Totals priority points. Once we fill a price tier by Tide Totals priority points, we will then proceed to the next price tier based upon Tide Totals priority points.

- How will Faculty/Staff Season Tickets work?
-
All faculty/staff season tickets requested during the spring request process will have an opportunity to opt in for 2020 partial season packages (with a limit of 2 tickets each). Access to tickets will be by "years of service" and must be made online by the faculty/staff holder of record during the August request period (August 18-28).
All faculty/staff who requested a full season package during the spring sale will receive an email (August 18) with refund/opt-in options in the socially distant stadium configuration. By September 8, faculty/staff will receive socially distant configuration seat assignment and/or confirmation of 2020 season request.
- How will Lettermen Season Tickets work?

By September 8, lettermen will receive socially distant configuration seat assignment and/or confirmation of 2020 season request.

Student Questions
- I purchased a student ticket package during the returning student sale in April. When can I expect to receive a refund for my purchase?
- Refunds will be issued in the next 1-2 weeks to the card provided during the initial sales process.
- Will I receive a refund even if I still want to buy tickets at some point this season?
- Yes. All students who purchased a ticket package during the returning student sale in April will receive a full refund for that purchase, regardless of whether you still intend to purchase later in the season.
- When can I opt in to buy a ticket for each game?
- Tickets will be sold on a game-by-game basis for the 2020 season. Full season and split packages will not be available. You may opt-in for the opportunity to purchase a game ticket on the Monday and Tuesday of the week before the game (11-12 days before gameday).
- What are the ticket prices for each game?
- All student tickets will be priced at $20 per game. All orders will require an additional $3 order charge.
- When will I know whether I receive a ticket for each game?
- Tickets for each game will be fulfilled on the Wednesday of the week before the game (10 days before gameday). All students who opted-in for a ticket to that game will receive an email on that day regarding whether their request was fulfilled.
- How is it determined whether I receive a ticket for each game?
-
The reduced capacity student section is being allocated across each class according to the breakdown below:
- Seniors: 40%
- Juniors: 20%
- Sophomores: 15%
- Freshmen: 15%
- Graduate/Professional: 10%
After the opt-in period closes, seats will be allocated by credit hour within each class. The first 40% of the section will be assigned to seniors in order of most UA credit hours earned to fewest. Then, 20% of the section will be assigned to juniors in the same manner, and so on. If a single class does not combine to request as many tickets as the class is allocated, the remaining seats will be given to the next highest class level. Whether you receive a ticket will be determined by your class level, your credit hours earned, and the number of students within your class who also request a ticket to the same game. If a credit hour tiebreaker is needed within a specific class, a random lottery will determine which of the tied students receive a ticket.
- How do I know whether I will be assigned to a lower bowl or upper bowl seat?
- Lower and upper bowl seat assignments will be based on UA earned credit hours among students who qualified for a ticket to that game. It is possible to receive a lower bowl ticket for one game and an upper bowl ticket for another game depending on the credit hour cutoff for each game.
- The student section is general admission seating. How will I know where to sit?
- Seats that are open will be marked with a sticker or tape. You may sit in any marked seat on a first-come, first-served basis within your assigned bowl (lower/upper).
- Can I sit with other students?
- Yes. Clusters of seats will be available in sets of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Cluster sizes are intentionally varied to maximize the capacity of the student section while maintaining group sizes and social distancing standards that adhere to current health guidelines.
- If I qualify, can I buy a ticket to as many games as I want?
- No. Due to the reduced capacity requirement, all students will be limited to purchasing a maximum of two games over the course of the season. Students who wish to attend more than two games can attempt to acquire a ticket to additional games via transfer or the donation pool.
- Can I still transfer or donate my game ticket through the My Football Ticket platform?
- Yes. Ticket transfers and donations will still be available through My Football Ticket. Note that your purchase will still count toward your limit of two games per season even if you later transfer or donate the ticket.
- Can I still upgrade my game ticket to a student guest ticket?
- No. Due to the capacity of the student section already being reduced, student guest upgrades will not be available for the 2020 season.
- Will I receive Tide Loyalty Points for attending games and staying until the fourth quarter?
- No. Due to the reduced capacity requirement of the student section, Tide Loyalty Points will be suspended for the 2020 season.
- Will I have an opportunity to purchase postseason tickets (if applicable)?
- Postseason ticket availability will be communicated at a later date if Alabama is likely to participate in a postseason game. In that scenario, priority access to postseason tickets would be determined by UA credit hours earned since Tide Loyalty Points is suspended for the 2020 season.
- I saw that the athletics department is moving to mobile tickets for the 2020 season. How will that affect student tickets?
- Student tickets are not affected by the transition to mobile tickets for the general public. Your game ticket will still be on your ACT card which you will scan for entry into Bryant-Denny Stadium on gameday.
