Bama Salute
The University of Alabama looks to consistently honor the sacrifices made by the men and women in our Armed Forces. Our Bama Salute initiative was created in the hopes to honor those individuals on select gamedays, and throughout the year with our Flag Flying program. We are pleased to offer the below opportunities to the active military and veterans that support the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Salute of the Game
The University of Alabama Athletics aims to take time to honor a serviceman or woman for their dedication to our country at all ticketed sporting events. The honoree receives complimentary tickets to the event and is recognized in a special ceremony before or during the event. Nominate someone for Salute of the Game.
Honor Someone Special by Flying an American Flag at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium
Alabama Athletics and Bryant-Denny Stadium now offers those who currently serve or have served our military the opportunity to send an American flag, and have it flown over Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Fly your flag today!
Alabama Athletics POW/MIA Chairs
The University of Alabama Athletics Department is dedicated to honoring our military through the Bama Salute initiative. In November 2017, then-Bryant-Denny Stadium added one more seat to its lower bowl, the POW/MIA Chair, dedicated to the men and women in uniform who have yet to return home from overseas combat. Following suit, six years later, Coleman Coliseum added its own POW/MIA Chair which was unveiled in the upper level in November 2023.
Since Veterans Day 2012, POW/MIA Chairs have been placed in professional and collegiate athletic venues across the country, with the first being installed in Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. Alongside each POW/MIA Chair, you'll likely find a plaque that reads:
"You are not forgotten. Since World War I, more than 92,000 American soldiers are unaccounted for. This unoccupied seat is dedicated to the memory of these brave men and women and to the sacrifices each made in serving this country. God Bless You. God Bless America."
You can find our POW/MIA Chairs at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Section A, Row 59, Seat 1, and inside Coleman Coliseum in Section H, Row 19, Seat 1.
Bama Salute Events
Alabama Athletics is proud to support the courageous men and women who serve our country. Each school year, Crimson Tide teams honor active-duty military and veterans at several home sporting events. Our Bama Salute campaign can include complimentary or discounted ticket offers, veteran recognitions, military celebrations and more.
