
Jennings Named to Haskins Award Preseason Watch List

William Jennings recognized among the nation’s top collegiate golfers prior to the start of the 2026-27 season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men's golfer William Jennings has been named to the 2026-27 Preseason Fred Haskins Award Watch List, which honors the nation's top collegiate golfer. Jennings' recognition comes after an impressive second season, highlighted by a pair of first place finishes and a runner-up result across the Crimson Tide's four fall tournaments.
First presented in 1971, the Fred Haskins Award honors the best male college golfer in the United States each year. The winner is chosen by votes from college golfers, coaches, and members of the golf media. Past winners, including Alabama's Justin Thomas in 2012, have gone on to win 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world.

- Had an outstanding 2025-26 season, ending the year ranked No. 4 in the nation among all Division I men's golfers (Scoreboard/Clippd national rankings)
- Became the ninth golfer in program history to earn First Team All-America honors, and the first to earn the honor since 2016 (Robby Shelton)
- Finished runner-up at the 2026 NCAA Men's Golf Championships with a 72-hole tournament total of 13-under par 275 (66-70-70-69)
- Became the fourth Alabama's men's golfer in program history, and first since 2013, to win an NCAA Regional championship as he carded a 15-under par 201 to claim individual honors at the Marana Regional
- Earned three first-place finishes this season which is tied for the second-most individual wins in a year in program history (Fall of Honors Collegiate, Ben Hogan Collegiate, NCAA Marana Regional)
- Had eight top five finishes across his 12 tournaments played on the year, highlighted by three first place finishes and three runner-up results
- Named to United States Palmer Cup Team, which was played in July, and the United States Walker Cup Team which will be held in early September
- A finalist for the 2026 Haskins Award
