PONTE VEDRA, Fla. – The No. 15 Alabama men's golf team finished in 11th overall at The Hayt, closing the three-day, 54-hole event on Monday with a team total of 8-under par 856 (279-286-291).
Brycen Jones led the Crimson Tide's starting five, closing play at 3-under par 213 to finish in 26th place. Connor Brown, who was competing as an individual, led all UA golfers with a five-under par 211 to finish tied for 16th overall.
Head Coach Jay Seawell
"I think our guys would agree that our performance this week was not up to the standard that we have set for ourselves. I thought we had some opportunities early in the tournament to position ourselves around the leaders, so there were certainly things we can build off there for our next tournament. But overall this was a pretty lackluster performance. I think we all need to look at ourselves in the mirror – myself included – and know we're better this this. We did not perform well but these are the types of performances that you need sometimes to get you going in the direction. I know we have a very talented team that has some reachable goals this season, so we need to use this to get better and become the team I know we can be."
