COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 21 Alabama women's basketball team fell to Texas A&M, 72-69, on Sunday in a back-and-forth affair at Reed Arena.
Three finished in double figures to lead Alabama (20-5, 6-5 SEC), including Jessica Timmons with a team-highs of 19 points and eight rebounds. Ta'Mia Scott finished with 18 points, shooting 7-of-12 (58 percent) from the field and 4-of-6 (66 percent) from behind the arc to go along with four rebounds and two blocks. Essence Cody added 13 points and seven boards in the win
Texas A&M (9-10, 2-8 SEC) was led by Ny'Ceara Pryor with 20 points, while Fatmate Janneh grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds.
Head Coach Kristy Curry Comments
"I think when you give up 17 offensive rebounds that's not a very good recipe for success and when you put someone at the free throw line 31 times that's also not a very good recipe for success. We always want to make more than our opponents shoot and we did a poor job of that today. So, credit Texas A&M, I just have no words. We had an experience like this a couple weeks ago and felt like we had talked and done things differently with our travel plan to get their attention on a quick turnaround from Thursday. At some point, players have to understand and have self-awareness."

- Noami Jones' four blocks tallied her ninth game out of the last 10 contests with a blocked shot as she leads the SEC during conference play
- Alabama shot 25-of-59 (42 percent) from the floor, 8-of-17 (47 percent) from deep and 11-of-15 (73 percent) from the free throw line.
- In comparison, Texas A&M shot 24-of-63 (38 percent) from the floor, 3-of-17 (18 percent) from deep and 21-of-31 (68 percent) from the charity stripe.
How it Happened
- The Aggies took the lead with five minutes left in the opening quarter after a back-and-forth battle
- Alabama tied the game (12-12) with two minutes left, but ultimately ended the first quarter trailing (14-12)
- Deep in the second frame, Alabama took a one-point lead, 19-18, with a layup before being overtaken with five minutes remaining in the half
- The Crimson Tide and Aggies sat at 22 apiece before a 13-7 run by Texas A&M final minutes ending the half with the Aggies up by five (34-29)
- Alabama tied the game (42-42) before taking the lead off free throws with two minutes left in the third quarter
- The Tide and the Aggies battled through the final minutes, tying or exchanging the lead seven times, ultimately Alabama ended the third frame with a one-point lead (54-53) following a buzzer-beating three pointer
- UA held onto the lead for the first two minutes of the fourth frame before a 6-0 run by the Aggies turned the lead over (62-57)
- A jumper turned the lead back over to the Tide before it was returned to the Aggie where it stayed until the end
