The Crimson Tide swept Delta State for the second straight year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama swimming and diving program defeated Delta State in dominant fashion at the Alabama Aquatic Center on Saturday as the women won 253-33 and the men won 248-41.
For the second straight year, the Crimson Tide won all 32 events against the Statesmen.
Madyson Hartway highlighted the women's side, sweeping the breaststroke events, and for the men, Joao Pierre Campos, Cole Witmer and Bogdan Zverev all went home with two individual victories in their respective races.
From Head Coach Margo Geer
"Overall, I'm very happy with the way that the team competed for the first home meet. It's always great to have the home crowd getting rowdy and showing some pride so I really enjoyed that. We had a lot of new people that this was their first meet and a lot of people that this was their first home meet so there was a lot of excitement there as well."
"The foundation that we set has been really good so I'm excited to keep on building on that. Obviously, we have a couple weeks here before the next CSL Match and then we have Miami and the UGA Invite which is the focus for the Fall, so I'm just excited to get back to work!"
