The Crimson Tide picked up a third-straight Southeastern Conference victory Monday
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 21/24 Alabama women's basketball team downed Missouri, 74-63, Monday night to collect its third-straight Southeastern Conference victory. The Crimson Tide improved to 17-1 overall, continuing the best start in program history following the road win.
Karly Weathers shot 9-for-13 (69 percent) from the field, 2-for-5 (40 percent) from deep and 3-for-3 (100 percent) from the charity stripe en route to a career-high 23 points. Weathers, along with Ta'Mia Scott and Jessica Timmons, each grabbed seven rebounds to lead the team.
Missouri (12-7, 0-4 SEC) was led by Grace Slaughter who posted a near double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds.

Game Notes
- Ta'Mia Scott collected five of the team's eight total steals, marking a career-high for the senior
- Junior Alancia Ramsey played a season-high 22 minutes off the bench, pacing the team in the plus-minus category at plus 16
- Naomi Jones tied her career high with four blocks against the Tigers
- Alabama controlled the paint with 42 points inside, while Missouri finished with 26
- The Crimson Tide committed just three turnovers, compared to 11 by Missouri which Alabama converted into 12 points
- UA shot 28-of-66 (42 percent) from the floor, 6-of-17 (35 percent) from beyond the arc and 12-of-13 (92 percent) from the free throw line
- In comparison, Missouri shot 22-of-58 (38 percent) from the floor, 9-of-21 (43 percent) from the three-point line and 10-of-13 (77 percent) from the free throw line
How it Happened
- The Crimson Tide jumped out to a 7-5 lead five minutes into the game from a layup by Karly Weathers following a Missouri turnover
- Missouri briefly regained the lead at 9-7 before Ta'Mia Scott tied the game at 9-9. Ace Austin gave Alabama an 11-9 advantage with a pair of free throws to spark a 15-2 run for the Crimson Tide.
- Alabama opened the second frame with a 6-2 run, fueled by layups from Weathers, FIRST NAME Collins and Jessica Timmons before Missouri answered with a 16-2 run to close the half, diminishing the Tide's lead to three points
- The Crimson Tide opened the third quarter with a three pointer from Timmons
- Alabama and Missouri traded baskets throughout the stanza, with the Tide edging the Tigers 21-20 in the frame
- UA opened the fourth quarter with a 9-1 run to build a 64-50 lead
- Despite a 7-0 run by Missouri to end the game, Alabama secured a 74-63 victory over the Tigers
