Routliffe wins her second US Open doubles championship following her victory in 2023
FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – Former Alabama women's tennis standout Erin Routliffe and doubles partner Gaby Dabrowski defeated top-seeded Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) to claim the 2025 US Open title.
The victory marks the pairings' second US Open doubles title after previously winning in 2023, while Routliffe picked up her 12th career doubles title.
Journey to the Title
- After earning their way to the quarterfinals, Routliffe and Dabrowski defeated 11th-seeded Timea Babos and Luisa Steani (0-6, 6-4, 6-4)
- The pairs' momentum continued as they beat second-seeded Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini in two sets to advance to the finals (6-4. 6-3)
- Routliffe and Dabrowski jumped out to a 4-2 lead in set one of the final before saving two break points en route to claiming set one, 6-4
- After taking a quick 3-0 lead in the second set, the Canadian-Kiwi duo battled from being tied at 4-4 to winning the match on a groundstroke (6-4, 6-4)
