Football's Annual Opponents Announced
In case you missed it, football's annual opponents, along with the program's future home/away schedules for the 2026-29 seasons, were announced live on SEC Network Tuesday evening.
Alabama's annual opponents, which were determined by the SEC based on traditional rivalries, neutral site games and historical long-time series, will be Auburn, Mississippi State and Tennessee. For our full list of SEC foes and schedule breakdown, you can click here.
Football Team Rolls into Georgia
Following back-to-back wins at home and our first bye of the season, our team has been preparing for the Southeastern Conference opener with this weekend's showdown in Athens versus the Bulldogs.
As a reminder, Saturday's game will be televised at 6:30 p.m. CT/7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
Women's Golf Opens its Season by Winning the Lady Paladin Invitational
Similar to the way our men's golf team began its year by sweeping team and medalist trophies at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, head coach Mic Potter and his team began their 2025-26 season winning the team title while also taking home individual medalist and runner-up honors at the Lady Paladin Invitational. The team finished at 18-under par with Harriet Lockley (-8) claiming first overall and teammate Ryan Flynn (-7) earning second place. Congrats to the team on a great start to the year.
Soccer Continues to Sizzle, Ranked No. 25 in the Nation!
Our soccer team has been sizzling! Head coach Wes Hart has our women off to an 8-2-1 start and a 2-1 mark in SEC play following a weekend sweep of conference opponents. We first went to Baton Rouge and defeated LSU, 2-1, before returning home to take down Texas in a thriller, 4-3. As a result, the Tide returned to the national rankings, checking in at No. 25 in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll.
Hart and his team will play at Kentucky tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT in their lone contest of the week. Next week, the team will play a pair of contests, first hosting Oklahoma Thursday night, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Alabama Soccer Stadium. The team will then play Sunday afternoon, Oct. 5, on SEC Network, when we take on Missouri on the road at 2 p.m. CT.Â
Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Open Season This Weekend
Both our men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their fall seasons Friday morning when we hosted Delta State. Head coach Margo Geer returns a total of eight swimmers and divers who earned All-America honors a year ago, so the excitement is high. The meet recap as well as final team results will be posted on RollTide.com later today.
Track and Field, Cross Country Early Season Success
The success has continued for Dan Waters' program, both on the collegiate and world stages. Former standouts Khaleb McRae (4x400m Relay) and Jereem Richards (400m) each won silver at the World Athletics Championships that were held last week in Tokyo.Â
On top of that news, both our men's and women's cross country teams continue to excel early in the season as we swept the individual titles at the Southern Showcase on Sept. 12. The men's 8k race saw sophomore Dismus Lokira run a course-record 23:11.1 to claim the individual title, followed by UA teammate Dennis Kipruto (23:20.7), who finished second. The duo led the men to the team title.
On the women's side, Caren Kiplagat shined in her debut, crossing the finish line in 16:18.8 to claim the women's 5k individual title. Both Dismus and Caren earned SEC Weekly Honors, while Caren went on to earn USTFCCCA Women's National Athlete of the Week for her efforts. Both teams returned to action this morning at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo. Final results will be posted on RollTide.com.
Men's Tennis Set to Host ITA Fall Regional Championships Beginning on October 9
Our men's tennis team will once again host the ITA Fall Regional Championships at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The tournament serves as a qualifier for the NCAA singles and doubles national championships and features some of the top collegiate players in the nation. The event is set for Oct. 9-14 and admission is free for fans of all ages.
University Spotlight
I've always thought our University of Alabama students do some pretty amazing things, and you can chalk this up in that category. The Crimson Racing team, which is housed inside the student-run labs at Hardaway Hall, is assembling a high-performance, open-wheel race car as part of a yearlong engineering and manufacturing effort let entirely by undergraduates.Â
At the end of the academic year in May, Crimson Racing competes at the Formula SAE competition in Michigan, an international event where more than 120 university teams showcase their student-built race cars. Cool stuff and good luck to Crimson Racing this year!
#RollTideFriday
Keep those #RollTideFriday photos coming! I always love seeing the pictures of our great fans wearing their Alabama crimson and white around the country and the world. This week, the Brown Family showed us how to do it out at Lake Como - what a beautiful photo! We also had a submission from Cindy Hodgins Burian, who visited Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris proudly displaying her Crimson Tide pride!
