
Crimson Tide Soccer Players Pick Up Preseason Awards

A total of seven Alabama student-athletes would earn spots on various preseason watchlists
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– A total of seven Alabama soccer players garnered attention ahead of the 2025 season as the Southeastern Conference, United Soccer Coaches and TopDrawerSoccer all released their preseason watchlists Tuesday.
Senior standout Gianna Paul would earn a spot on all three lists while Kiley Kukan, Leah Kunde, Maddie Padelski, Nadia Ramadan and Melina Rebimbas would be named to the SEC Preseason Watchlist. Additionally, Paul and Larkin Thomason would secure a spot on the United Soccer Coaches Players to Watch - Forwards List while Paul also picked up TopDrawerSoccer's Preseason Best XI Third Team honors.
About the Honorees
- For the third consecutive year, Gianna Paul was named to the SEC Preseason Watchlist, while Leah Kunde, Nadia Ramadan and Melina Rebimbas earned the honor for their second straight season
- A 2024 All-American, Paul also highlighted the United Soccer Coaches' Players to Watch – Forwards List alongside Mercer transfer and 2024 SoCon Player of the Year Larkin Thomason
- In addition to her All-America honor last season, Paul paced the Crimson Tide offense, earning First Team All-SEC honors after scoring a team-leading 12 goals, which ranked 27th nationally
- Ramadan led Alabama in assists with five on the year while ranking second in both points (19) and goals (7)
- An instrumental part of the Tide's midfield, Kunde notched five points last season off of one goal and three assists
- After missing the first half of the season due to an injury, Rebimbas aided the Tide in four shutouts and tallied a goal against Florida
- Maddie Padelski and Kiley Kukan earned their first SEC preseason nods after breakout freshmen seasons
- Despite missing a month of action to compete with the U.S. U17 FIFA World Cup Team, Padelski ranked fifth on the team in points with two goals and two assists last season
- Kukan would earn SEC All-Freshman Team honors for her efforts in 2024, tying for third on the team in goals with three while adding three assists to her rookie campaign
- Thomason led the SoCon in points (38) and goals (16) last season
