Tristan Barr, Dylan Wood Named to SEC Track and Field Community Service Teams

The Southeastern Conference announces Community Service Teams for all 22 league-sponsored sports, highlighting a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama distance runner Dylan Wood and pole vaulter Tristan Barr were named to the 2025 Southeastern Conference Track and Field Men's and Women's Community Service Teams, the league office announced Thursday.
About the Honorees
- Tristan Barr accumulated over 180 hours of community service this season, working primarily with Young Life Tuscaloosa through County High School
- While there, Barr connected with high school girls, acting as a mentor and guiding the students as they explored their faith, which included attending their school events, bringing donuts to school every Friday and providing them with opportunities for fellowship and spiritual development
- Additionally, Barr offered her services to Habitat for Humanity, where she and other UA student-athletes helped build a home for an individual or family in need
- She also volunteered at University Place Elementary where she provided additional support to various members of the school in different classrooms, before also pouring into the younger generation at Alabama's Women in Sports Day event held on National Girls and Women in Sports Day
- Dylan Wood used his time over winter break to volunteer with Summa Health System, located in Akron, Ohio
- While there, Wood provided assistance in and throughout the nonprofit system
- Both Barr and Wood served at Alabama's annual Halloween Extravaganza, an annual Halloween event hosted by the athletics department, that allows local Tuscaloosa children and families the ability to safely trick-or-treat and play games with various UA student-athletes
