Four Alabama Women’s Tennis Players Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Margaux Maquet, Klara Milicevic, Sara Nayar and Maria Martinez Vaquero were selected for all-district honors
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Four members of the Alabama women's tennis program were named to the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
It was the first appearance on the CSC All-District Team for Maria Martinez Vaquero and Sara Nayar, while Margaux Maquet and Klara Milicevic both earned the honor for the second time.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Margaux Maquet
- Held a 3.6 GPA during her graduate year en route to earning a double master's degree in sport management and marketing
- Earned her second CSC Academic All-District nod after collecting her first honor in 2023
- Downed Oklahoma's then-No. 41 ranked doubles pairing of Alina Shcheribinina and Julia Garcia Ruiz 7-6(3) with partner Petra Sedlackova
- Clinched the winning point against Arizona State at the ITA Kickoff Weekend
- Defeated the then-No. 22 ranked doubles team of Alicia Dudeney and Bente Spee (Florida) with teammate Sedlackova, 6-4, in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament
- Downed Florida's Reagan Parker, 6-2, 6-1, during singles play in the SEC Tournament
- Earned her first professional title during the summer of 2024 after finishing as the runner-up in the championship round at the W35 Punta Cana with doubles partner and Alabama teammate, Maria Martinez Vaquero
Klara Milicevic
- Maintained a 3.5 GPA throughout her junior year while pursing a management degree
- Named to the all-district team for the second consecutive year
- Four-time University of Alabama's Dean's List honoree
- Advanced to the ITA Southern Regional Championships Round of 16 in both singles and doubles
- Tied for second-most singles wins on the team (15) and third-most in doubles (11)
- Recorded a six-match winning streak during the dual match season
Sara Nayar
- Graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA as she earned a master's in human environmental studies
- Led the team with 19 singles wins throughout the 2024-25 season
- Won her first 12 singles matches to kick off dual match play
- Captured 12 doubles wins with 10 of them coming with doubles partner Klara Milicevic
- Defeated Florida's Noemie Oliveras, 6-4, 6-1, in the SEC tournament
Maria Martinez Vaquero
- Held a 3.6 GPA while earning a master's in marketing during her final collegiate year
- Reached a team-high ranking in doubles with partner Maria Andrienko, coming in at 55th nationally
- Most notable doubles win was against LSU's then-No. 25 duo of Tilwith Di Girolami and Anita Sahdiieva
- Third-most singles wins on team with 13, as 10 of which were at the number four spot for Alabama
- Claimed the deciding point against Georgia Tech
- Defeated Florida's Bente Spee, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4, in the SEC Tournament
- Earned her first professional title during the summer of 2024 after finishing as the runner-up in the championship round at the W35 Punta Cana with doubles partner and Alabama teammate, Margaux Maquet
