The Crimson Tide clinched both of its matches against the Braves

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team steamrolled past Alcorn State in a doubleheader on Monday. The Crimson Tide swept the Braves, 4-0, in both matches which improved UA's overall record to 12-12.

Match Notes

In the first match of the day, Alabama quickly jumped ahead after securing doubles victories on courts one and two to claim the first team point
Petra Sedlackova and Maria Martinez Vaquero downed Natalija Nikolic and Ozi-Oiza Josephine Yakubu on court one, 6-0
The Tide's doubles duo of Maria Andrienko and Klara Milicevic secured the doubles point after defeating Oihane Villanueva Lopez and Nikita Liyanage, 6-1
Alabama would go on to collect singles wins on courts one, three and four, respectfully, all in straight sets
Martinez Vauero earned the Tide's second team point following a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Yakubu on court four
On court one, Sedlackova downed Nikolic in two sets (6-1, 6-0) before Milicevic would clinch the match for Alabama on court three with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lopez
Like the first match one, the Tide secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and three, respectfully
Sedlackova and Martinez Vaquero defeated Lopez and Liyanage to claim their second doubles win on the day
Andrienko and newcomer Caroline DiBiasi earned their first victory together after downing Aanya Rao and Doaa Mohamed, 6-0
Going into singles, Alabama needed just one win to clinch the match following two Alcorn State forfeits on courts five and six
Sedlackova defeated Mohamed in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, on court one to complete the team sweep for the Tide
UA has the advantage on the remaining three courts (two, three and four) that stood unfinished at the time the match was called
