FORT WORTH, Texas – After a resilient season, the Alabama gymnastics program concluded its season at the NCAA Championships Semifinals Thursday in Dickies Arena.
In its 40th appearance at the national meet in team history, the Crimson Tide accumulated a 196.8250 team score to take eighth place overall. With the feat, the Crimson Tide has maintained a top-12 end of year ranking throughout the entirety of the program's history.
Multiple gymnasts captured 9.900-or-higher scores during the semifinal session. Additionally, five gymnasts garnered a total of seven All-America honors, highlighted by Gabby Gladieux's four accolades on vault, beam, floor and in the all-around.
Prior to the semifinal meet, Rachel Rybicki won the prestigious Elite 90 award, becoming the fifth gymnast in UA history to earn the honor. As a program, Alabama leads all Division I schools in both number of gymnasts to win the award (five) and overall number of honors (eight).
Head Coach Ashley Johnston Said
"Gosh, it's so hard to believe that the 2025 season is now over. I have to say, I'm just so proud of this team for everything they've fought through – the determination and passion that they showed week after week throughout this season. Tonight, we were able to put together 24 out of 24 really good routines. We left a few tenths on the table, but overall, I think this team showed that they are one of the top teams in the country. They made a statement. I'm so excited about how they're setting the foundation for next year's team, and years to come beyond that. [There are] so many highlights tonight from Lily [Hudson] and Gabby [Gladieux]'s floor routines that I think are some of the best in the country. Gabby Ladanyi, on beam, was an absolute rockstar. Chloe [LaCoursiere] had a really fantastic night on bars, beam and floor, and then some great vaults from both Corinne [Bunagan], Gabby [Gladieux] and the rest of the squad. Overall, I'm just really proud of some of the great performances tonight. There were a lot of people that didn't think this team was going to be here, and I think [this group] really proved that they are a team that is among the best in the country, and we're excited on how we're building for the future."
