
Women’s Golf Sits in 10th Place After Day One of the SEC Championships

Kennedy Carroll leads the way for the Crimson Tide in 20th place on the individual leaderboard
BELLEAIR, Fla. – The Alabama women's golf team sits tied for 10th place overall, with a team total of 6-over par 286 in the opening round of the 2025 SEC Championships at the Pelican Golf Club. The Crimson Tide's Kennedy Carroll finished the round with a team-best 20th on the player leaderboard at even-par 70.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Alabama posted the lowest average score (2.85, -3) on par 3 holes in the first round
- Kennedy Carroll led Alabama in the first round of the SEC Championships at even-par 70, sitting in a tie for 20thon the player leaderboard
- Carroll's average score on par 3 holes was 2.50 (-2), which was tied for the lowest throughout the field
- Julia Sánchez Morales' 1-over par 71 matches her lowest round of the season, posting 11 pars in the first round of the tournament, to finish the day tied for 30th place
- Mattison Frick posted a trio of birdies throughout the first 18 holes of the tournament, carding a 2-over par 72, to finish the day in 38th place overall
- In her first SEC Championship appearance, Ryan Flynn closed the day in 48th place at 3-over par 73 recording three birdies in the first round

- Auburn's Anna Davis and South Carolina's Ella Galitsky and Hannah Darling are tied for the clubhouse individual lead at 5-under par 65
