Alabama Sweeps Men’s Discus Podium to Open Crimson Tide Invitational

UA’s Trevor Gunzell (first), Christopher Young (second) and Christopher Crawford (third) took the top-three spots of the men’s discus invite to highlight the opening day of the Tide’s annual meet
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama track and field opened its annual home meet at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium with seven top-five finishes throughout Friday. Additionally, a 1-2-3 finish by the UA men's discus trio highlighted the opening day of the annual Crimson Tide Invitational.
Further highlighting the early-found success, four of the Tide's top-five results were either first-or-second-place marks, spanning across two different events. RJ Decker (66.34 | 217-8) and Trevor Gunzell (62.66 205-7) captured the men's hammer and discus event titles, respectively.
Alabama will return to its home facility Saturday for the final day of the Crimson Tide Invitational.
