
Trapp, Morrison Clock Consecutive Top-Five National Times to Open Battle on the Bayou

In his event debut, Evan Trapp glided to the 3,000-meter steeplechase title, and the fourth-fastest NCAA time this season, while Keaton Morrison broke her 1,500-meter PR by 10 seconds to secure the nation’s No. 4 time
BATON ROUGE, La. – In back-to-back events, Alabama track and field's Evan Trapp (men's 3,000m steeplechase) and Keaton Morrison (women's 1,500m) both captured the fourth-fastest national time of the season, respectively, to close the opening day of Battle on the Bayou. In his steeplechase event debut, Trapp glided to a 9:11.83, first-place finish at the Bernie Moore Track and Field Stadium, before Morrison broke her 1,500-meter PR by 10 seconds en route to a 4:16.23, fourth-place finish. Morrison now holds the ninth-fastest time in UA history.
Off the track, the Crimson Tide advanced a trio of student-athletes to their respective event finals (RJ Decker, Noelle Igberaese – hammer throw; Megan Albamonti – javelin), while pole vaulter Holly Foley used a season-best performance to secure another top-10 placement for Alabama.
