Oussama El Bouchayby, Trevor Gunzell Earn SEC Weekly Honors

El Bouchayby was named the SEC’s Men’s Co-Runner of the Week, while Gunzell captured SEC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week recognition
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following Alabama track and field's outdoor season debut at the Bulldog Relays, the Crimson Tide accumulated a pair of weekly conference honors, the Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday.
UA's mid-distance runner Oussama El Bouchayby was named the Men's Co-Runner of the Week by the league after his 800-meter victory that featured a national-leading time of 1:47.48.
Off the track, Alabama's Trevor Gunzell received Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors. Gunzell won both the discus and shot put titles, featuring top-five national performances in both events. His 59.25-meter discus throw (194-5) has him ranked fifth in the country, as his 19.80-meter showing (64-11.50) in shot put leads the nation.
