Rachel Rybicki Named to SEC Gymnastics Community Service Team

The Southeastern Conference annouces Community Service Teams for all 22 league-sponsored sports, highlighting a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior Alabama gymnast Rachel Rybicki was named to the 2025 Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Community Service Team, the league office announced Friday.

- Has prioritized her efforts in the Tuscaloosa area, specifically its Spanish-speaking community
- Close to 40 of her hours were served at Flatwoods Elementary School assisting with its English as a Second Language program, which aids students with classwork by bridging the gap between the English and Spanish languages
- Brought her entire elementary class to the team's Crimson and White Preview meet (Dec. 2024) and provided the group front row seats during the event
- Collected complimentary hotel toiletries every road meet this season to give to her students at Flatwoods
- Spent the summer traveling to Costa Rica on a mission trip with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as one of two Alabama gymnastics representatives, along with members of other UA Athletics teams
- Conducted different coaching clinics with both adults and children, and worked with a local church in repainting a home, and buildings at the church
- Volunteered at Halloween Extravaganza – an opportunity where UA student-athletes, from various Alabama sports, come together for a trick-or-treat event for the local Tuscaloosa community
- Helped the Alabama gymnastics program host its annual RISE Holiday Party
- At the holiday party, preschool children from the UA College of Human Environmental Science's "The RISE Center" are invited to play with current gymnasts on each apparatus, hosted at the program's Frances Smith Practice Facility
