Alabama Track Opens Multi-Meet Weekend With Strong Performances Across Three Competitions

The Crimson Tide saw three top-five finishes in Fayetteville, Ark., two top-40 finishes in Boston and one win in Nashville, Tenn.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Splitting up to compete at three different meets, the Alabama track and field teams resumed its indoor season Friday as the majority of the program opened the weekend at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. In addition, members of the Tide's distance contingent traveled to both the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn., as well as the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.
Hudson Hurst claimed a win for Alabama in the 5000m at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn., clocking a career-best 13:56.98. Ruben Banks (weight throw), Patrick Daves (60m hurdles) and Caelyn Harris (long jump) each posted top-five finishes, respectively, in Fayetteville, Ark. at the Tyson Invitational.
Dennis Kipruto (5000m) and Ezekiel Pitireng (3000m) each earned top 40 finishes in fields of over 200 athletes in Boston at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Both Kipruto (13:41.64) and Pitireng (7:56.64) recorded career bests.
