
Doris Lemngole Selected as Finalist for Honda Sport Award, Cross Country

The Crimson Tide junior has been named a finalist for the national award for the third straight year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the third consecutive year, Alabama cross country phenom Doris Lemngole was selected as a finalist for the Honda Sport Award for Cross Country, announced by The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA).
The announcement comes one day after Lemngole was named the National Athlete of the Year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), becoming the first female student-athlete in 14 years to be selected for the national honor in back-to-back years.
Alabama has had runners selected for the Honda Sport Award seven times over the last six years with Lemngole becoming the cross country program's second winner last season.

- Claimed the individual national title at the National Championships, becoming the first back-to-back winner in the women's race in 14 years
- Defended her title at the SEC Championships
- Captured her first individual South Region title
- 2025 USTFCCCA South Region Women's Athlete of the Year
- 2025 USTFCCCA All-American and First Team All-SEC honoree
Honda Sport Award, Cross Country
- Joining Lemngole is BYU's Riley Chamberlain and Jane Hedengren and Florida's Hilda Olemomoi
- The finalists were selected from the top four finishes at the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships
- Celebrating its 50th year, the CWSA has honored the nation's top NCAA women athletes for their superior athletic skills, leadership, academic excellence and participation in community service
- The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious Honda Cup, which will be presented during the live broadcast of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards, presented by Honda, on CBS Sports Network at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, July 27
