
Women’s 200 Medley Relay Highlights Opening Day of UGA Fall Invite

The Crimson Tide team of Emily Jones, Jada Scott, Gaby Van Brunt and Cadence Vincent captured a first-place finish in the event
ATHENS, Ga. – The women's 200 medley relay team of Emily Jones, Jada Scott, Gaby Van Brunt and Cadence Vincent paced the Alabama swimming and diving team on the opening day of competition at the UGA Fall Invite.
The quartet combined for a time of 1:34.37 to boast the top performance in the event by half a second. Additionally, the time ranks third nationally this season and paces the Southeastern Conference.
Alabama sits in fifth place in both the men's (65 points) and women's (75 points) team standings after the opening day of events.
Highlights
- In addition to winning the race, the Crimson Tide women's 200 medley relay team captured the third fastest time nationally this season, improving its 1:34.59 performance against Texas (10/10)
- Emily Jones turned in the fastest 50-backstroke split of the night, clocking a 23.59
- Additionally, Cadence Vincent (21.22) recorded the fastest 50 free split in the event
- Leonardo Alcantara also recorded one of the top times in the country, securing a 14:50.57 in the mile, which ranked third heading into the weekend
