TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama soccer team will host Northwestern in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament, the organization announced Monday. It marks the third time in four years that UA has competed at home for the opening round.
The Crimson Tide, an eighth seed, will welcome the Wildcats to Tuscaloosa for a 6 p.m. CT match on Friday. The selection marks the seventh overall appearance for Alabama in the NCAA Tournament and fifth overall berth by head coach Wes Hart.
From Head Coach Wes Hart
“We are very excited to get seeded and for the opportunity to host Northwestern in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Northwestern will be a tough first-round opponent. They’ve gotten results against several top teams this year. It should be a great game. We played one of the hardest schedules in the country this year to prepare us for games like this. I’m happy with where our team is at right now, and I believe we are currently playing our best soccer. I’m grateful for another opportunity to play at home in front of our fans.”
