Planinsek, Kriznik Named to Slovenian Davis Cup Team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's Filip Planinsek and Matic Kriznik have been named to the Slovenian Davis Cup Team and will face Indonesia in its first-round match.

The two-day competition will begin Saturday, Feb. 1, and will feature two singles matches. The doubles match will follow on Sunday, Feb. 2, as well as the last two singles matches. The draw for the match schedule will take place on Friday, Jan. 31.

Tournament Format

The 2025 Davis Cup Qualifiers will take place over two rounds with the first round starting Jan. 31 and the second round beginning on Sept. 12
The first round will feature 26 nations competing in 13 matches
The winners, plus one wild card, will advance to the second round of the tournament in September

Planinsek has competed at the No. 1 singles spot through the Tide's opening four matches and holds a 2-0 record against ranked opponents
