
Alabama Adds Carlos Gimenez Perez to Men’s Tennis Team

Gimenez Perez advanced to the semifinals at the ITA Southern Regional Championships before earning a spot at the ITA Fall National Championships
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama men's tennis team welcomes incoming transfer Carlos Gimenez Perez to the 2024-25 squad, the program announced Friday.
One of the on-court-leaders for the UAB Blazers, Gimenez Perez is coming off an ITA National Championships doubles appearance. Over his two years with the Blazers, he recorded 30 singles wins and 24 doubles victories.

- Earned a spot at the 2023 ITA Fall National Championship in doubles
- Advanced to the semifinals in doubles at the ITA Southern Regional Tournament
- Ranked second on the team in doubles victories with 18 during the 2023-24 season
- Placed third on the team in singles wins with 11
- Over his collegiate career, he recorded 30 singles victories and 24 doubles wins
- Played at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spot for UAB during his sophomore with the Blazers
- Named a 2023-24 ITA Scholar-Athlete
- Currently ranked 716 in the ITF Men's Singles Rankings
- Reached the quarterfinals at the M25 La Nucia Tournament in doubles over the summer
- Was ranked No. 20 on Spain's U18 boys' ranking
