
Alabama Men’s Golfer Dominic Clemons Falls in 129th British Amateur Championship Match

Clemons reached the championship match of the British Am just weeks after winning the Scottish Men’s Open Championship
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men's golf signee Dominic Clemons, who officially signed with the Crimson Tide last week, reached the championship match of the 129th British Amateur early Saturday morning, before falling 4&3 to Denmark's Jacob Skov.
Despite the setback, the newest Crimson Tide golfer has had an impressive summer overseas. In addition to reaching the finals of the British Am, Clemons won the 2024 Scottish Men's Open just last month.
A native of Cambridge, England, Clemons joins signees Michael Crocker, Nick Gross and William Jennings as a part of the Crimson Tide's 2024-25 signing class.

- Among a field that featured 288 of Europe's top amateur golfers to reach the championship match of the 129th British Am
- Tied for fifth in stroke play at the event (-1) before match play where he finished with a 5-1 record, falling to Jacob Skov in the championship match, 4&3
- Claimed the 2024 Scottish Men's Open Championships at Muirfield, claiming a 17-shot victory
- Finish that event with rounds of 68-65-65-62 for a four-day total score of 24-under par 260, defeating 144 amateur golfers from 24 nations around the world
- Eight years prior to his victory at Muirfield, Clemons won the 2016 Scottish Boys' Under-14 Open just a few miles down the coast at Craigielaw
- Played impressively in his lone season with at Stetson in 2023-24, and was a unanimous First Team All-ASUN selection closing the year with five top-three finishes and seven top-five results in 12 tournaments on the year
- Three-time ASUN Golfer of the Week, earning all three awards within a seven-week span in the spring season
- 2022 First Team All-American at Hutchinson CC
- Was named to the Ben Hogan Award Watch List
- 2022 NJCAA individual national champion and was the No. 1-ranked junior college golfer in the nation
- Led the Blue Dragons to a national championship
