Assistant Coach and Former Olympian Justin Spring Named as Paris Olympic Games Gymnastics Commentator

STAMFORD, Conn. – Alabama gymnastics assistant coach and 2008 Olympian Justin Spring was named to the roster of announcers for NBCUniversal's coverage of the Paris Olympics this summer, the network announced Wednesday.
A member of the 2008 bronze medal-winning U.S. men's gymnastics team, Spring will join the team for the daytime coverage of the men's gymnastics competition, with all coverage being streamed live on Peacock.
The four-time NCAA individual champion at Illinois will be making his NBC Olympics broadcast debut and will be joined by Laurie Hernandez – 2016 gold medalist in women's gymnastics, Rich Lerner – play-by-play host for GOLF Channel's PGA TOUR live tournament coverage and reporter Zora Stephenson – third Olympics with NBC Sports, as part of the Live Daytime gymnastics coverage team.

- Named the Big Ten Coach of the Year four separate times (2018, 2012, 2011, 2010)
- Four-time NCAA individual national champion as a student-athlete at Illinois
- 13-time All-American
- Led the Illini to runner-up finishes at the 2006 NCAA and Big Ten Championships
- 2006 Big Ten Gymnast of the Year
