The Crimson Tide golf teams welcomed special guests and began laying sod as completion date nears
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama golf facility continues to make strides as the clubhouse along with the course and practice areas are coming together to create a one-of-a-kind facility. The entire project remains on track for its grand opening in the fall of 2024.
The new facility hosted several visitors over the past few months including former Alabama golfers and current PGA pros Justin Thomas and Trey Mullinax. While there, both players took in the course layout and design plans.
Additionally, women's golf head coach Mic Potter, head men's golf coach Jay Seawell, Scot Sherman, lead architect for Love Golf Design, and Darren May, PGA Tour instructor for many of the world's top golfers, met over a two-day stretch for a key course and practice area design meetings. Since the practice area was a blank canvas, Coach Potter and Coach Seawell were able to give direct input on the layout of the driving, chipping and putting areas.

Now all that hard work is coming to fruition, as sod is being laid on holes No. 2 and No. 9, with the rest of the course being sodded shortly thereafter. When completed this fall, the men's and women's golf programs will be proud tenants of the top collegiate facility in the nation.
