The Crimson Tide will return to the Plains next week for the 2024 SEC Softball Tournament

AUBURN, Ala. – With the weekend series on the line, Alabama was shut out in Saturday's rubber match by Auburn, 3-0.

Alabama (33-16, 10-14 SEC) allowed Auburn (27-18-1, 9-15 SEC) to take the first lead of the game on a pair of RBI singles in the second and a fourth-inning solo home run from Amelia Lech later made it 3-0. The Crimson Tide didn't threaten until the top of the sixth, putting two on with one out but a strikeout and popup ended the potential rally to keep it a three-run game, which ultimately proved final.

Alabama is now 52-24 all-time vs. Auburn, including a 20-12 mark on the Plains
The series win is the sixth for the Tigers in the 17 three-game series played all time between the teams
The first-inning double play was the Tide's 18th of the season, now just one away from cracking the single-season top 10
