Sydney Japic Called Up to Bosnia-Herzegovina National Team

The Crimson Tide defender will compete in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 qualifying matches
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama defender Sydney Japic was called up to the Bosnia-Herzegovina National Team to compete in a pair of qualifying matches for the Women's EURO 2025.
Japic and Bosnia-Herzegovina will open competition April 5 against Portugal at 1:45 p.m. CT, before facing Northern Ireland on April 9 at 7:30 a.m.
Sydney Japic, Defender
- Helped Alabama shut out eight teams and hold 11 opponents to three or less shots on goal last season
- Tallied an assist on the game-winning goal against Vanderbilt and Auburn
- Called up for a pair of friendly matches against Serbia (Feb. 17, 2023) and Morocco (Feb. 21, 2023) last year
- Competed with the Bosnian National Team for the UEFA U-17 and U19 Euro qualifier (2019 & 2021)
- Scored a goal at the U17 UEFA Euro Qualifiers against Belgium in 2019
- Both Japic and her sister, Chloe Japic from the University of Virginia, are the lone collegiate players competing for Bosnia-Herzegovina in the friendlies
