Sydney Japic Called Up to Bosnia-Herzegovina National Team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama defender Sydney Japic was called up to the Bosnia-Herzegovina National Team to compete in a pair of qualifying matches for the Women's EURO 2025.

Japic and Bosnia-Herzegovina will open competition April 5 against Portugal at 1:45 p.m. CT, before facing Northern Ireland on April 9 at 7:30 a.m.

Sydney Japic, Defender

Helped Alabama shut out eight teams and hold 11 opponents to three or less shots on goal last season
Tallied an assist on the game-winning goal against Vanderbilt and Auburn
Called up for a pair of friendly matches against Serbia (Feb. 17, 2023) and Morocco (Feb. 21, 2023) last year
Competed with the Bosnian National Team for the UEFA U-17 and U19 Euro qualifier (2019 & 2021)
Scored a goal at the U17 UEFA Euro Qualifiers against Belgium in 2019
Both Japic and her sister, Chloe Japic from the University of Virginia, are the lone collegiate players competing for Bosnia-Herzegovina in the friendlies
