Filip Planinsek Named SEC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Alabama's Filip Planinsek was named the Southeastern Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Planinsek led the Tide to a pair of SEC wins over Ole Miss (W, 5-2) and No. 11 Texas A&M (W, 4-3) with crucial singles wins in both matches.

Planinsek's performance was highlighted by an upset win over the No. 22-ranked singles player in the country, Raphael Perot from Texas A&M. Additionally, he clinched the victory for the Tide against the Rebels defeating 50^th-ranked Nikola Slavic.
