
Women’s Golf Set to Compete at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

The Crimson Tide will make its 12th appearance at the event in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's golf will travel to Hilton Head Island, S.C, to compete at the three-day, 54-hole Darius Rucker Intercollegiate hosted by South Carolina. The appearance will mark the Crimson Tide's 12th time in the event that takes place Monday-Wednesday, March 4-6, at the par 71, 6,281-yard Long Cove Club.
Alabama will begin teeing off in the event Monday morning at 8:20 a.m. CT, paired alongside Ohio State on hole No. 1.
Live coverage of the event will be aired on the Golf Channel from 1:30-4:30 p.m. CT March 4-6.
THE LINEUP
- The Tide's lineup for the event will feature Sarah Edwards, Taylor Kehoe, Elina Sinz, Kaitlyn Schroeder and Mattie Frick
- Additionally, Harriet Lockley will compete in the event as an individual
- Edwards led UA in the Tide's last event, the Moon Golf Invitational, as she collected her 14th top-30 finish of her career as she tied for the 28th position with a 4-over par 220
- Edwards leads Alabama with a 71.40 overall stroke average and a -0.60 average vs. par
- Taylor Kehoe ranks second on the team in overall stroke average (71.93) and average vs. par (-0.07) and joins Sarah Edwards as one of only two UA golfers to have all rounds played count towards the team total score
- Elina Sinz, who carded her seventh round of par or better with a low 68 at the Moon Golf Invitational, joins the starting five as one of only three Alabama golfers to have started in every event of the season
- Kaitlyn Schroeder and Mattie Frick round out Alabama's starting lineup
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
- The teams will compete in a five-count-four stroke play format
- Joining Alabama, the 17-team features nine squads from the SEC including tournament host South Carolina, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt
- Other teams that make up the playing field are Arizona State, Baylor, Duke, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and Wake Forest
