Jones, Ponce De Leon Lead No. 21 Alabama in 5-2 Road Loss to No. 8 Tennessee

Both Jone and Ponce De Leon captured singles victories to pace the Tide in the loss
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. –– Roan Jones and Matias Ponce De Leon paced the No. 21 Alabama men's tennis team (15-9, 4-4 SEC) in a 5-2 road loss to No. 8 Tennessee (18-4, 7-1 SEC) on Friday.
Jones recorded mirroring set scores of 6-2, 6-2, to down the No. 109 ranked singles player and No. 5 in the Volunteer's lineup Filip Pieczonka. Additionally, Ponce De Leon fought through a three-set battle that featured seven-point tiebreakers on sets two and three. He would defeat Nicolas Kobelt on court four, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5) to round out the match.

- Tennessee notched the opening point off of wins on courts three and one, respectively
- When the opening point was clinched, Enzo Aguiard and Zach Foster were battling through a 6-6 tiebreak at the No. 2 spot
