The Crimson Tide falls to 7-6 in the Southeastern Conference
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Alabama women's basketball team fell to No. 1/1 South Carolina, 72-44, on Thursday night in Colonial Life Area. Â
The Crimson Tide (20-8, 7-6 SEC) were led by Jessica Timmons on both sides of the ball with 20 points, eight rebounds and two steals, while Loyal McQueen also scored in double figures (15) during her return to her home state. Â
Ashlyn Watkins led South Carolina (26-0, 13-0 SEC) with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, while Bree Hall (13), Tessa Johnson (12) and Sania Feagin (10) added double figures.Â

"First off, congratulations to Dawn [Staley] on win number 600. I have such great respect for all that she's done for our game, all that she continues to do and how much she cares about everybody in our league being great. Congratulations to her team on winning the SEC. You have to credit South Carolina for finishing plays early and we did not, which put us on our heels, and we weren't able to recover."Â Â

- The Crimson Tide connected on 19 percent (3-18) of its shots in the first quarterÂ
- UA's shooting woes continued in the second, missing 13 consecutive shots to open the frame, allowing South Carolina to go on a 19-0 runÂ
- The Tide went into the locker room trailing, 33-11Â
- South Carolina outscored UA, 39-33, in the second halfÂ
