BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After claiming a pair of top-two team finishes at the Southeastern Conference Championships for the second time in three years, Alabama cross country saw nine of its runners accumulate a total of 14 All-SEC honors, the league office announced Monday.
All five scoring runners for the Crimson Tide men landed on an All-SEC Team, while the UA women's SEC Championship team had four of its five scoring contingent achieve the feat. All nine runners would earn either first or third team recognition, with five also claiming all-freshman team honors.
Runners earn first-team recognition, for both genders, by finishing in the top seven at the conference championships. Runners 8-14 make up the second team, while student-athletes who place 15-21 represent the third team. The top-seven freshmen finishers, in each race, earn all-freshman honors.
