The Rankings
- The Alabama men sit at No. 8 in the nation after securing the program's eighth regional title at the South Regional Championships
- After capturing the fifth regional championship and second in three years, the UA women sit at No. 7 in the nation
- Conference champion Doris Lemngole is ranked No. 2 in FloTrack's 2024 NCAA cross country women's individual rankings

The Year Prior
- Last season, the UA women finished seventh at the NCAA Championships - the Tide's second consecutive top-10 finish and the fourth straight year with a top-15 placement
- Doris Lemngole arrives to Madison, Wisc., as the 2023 runner-up at the national meet
- In 2023, UA men's duo of Hillary Cheruiyot and Victor Kiprop qualified individually for the National Championships
- Kiprop (29:31.5) finished in the top 20 of the men's 10k race, while Cheruiyot (30:33.1) clocked a top-100 finish
The History
- The UA men will be making their 23rd appearance at the national meet, featuring eight top-15 team finishes
- In 2009, the Crimson Tide men captured a third-place finish, accumulating 173 points at Terre Haute, Ind. - the highest NCAA Cross Country Championships finish in program history
- The UA women, meanwhile, will be preparing for their 13th AIAW/NCAA National Championships appearance, and fifth consecutive
- Since competing in the NCAA, the Crimson Tide women have never finished as low as 20th - a run that includes back-to-back top-seven finishes at the national meet
- Alabama finished 23rd in 1980, competing in the AIAW
- In 2022, the UA women recorded their highest finish in program history, capturing third place, with 166 points, in Stillwater, Okla.
