
USTFCCCA All-Region Honors Awarded to Cross Country Following South Regional Championships

Three Crimson Tide runners received regional honors on the men’s side, as four UA members earned a spot on the women’s all-region list
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After sweeping the South Regional Championships, Alabama cross country saw seven of its runners earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors, the organization announced Monday. Dismus Lokira, Victor Kiprop and Dennis Kipruto contributed to a 1-2-3 UA sweep in the men's 10k race, while Doris Lemngole, Brenda Tuwei, Pheline Mining and Addison Dorenkamp all placed in the top 20 of the women's 6k race.
The UA men earned the program's eighth regional title, while the women captured the fifth regional championship in program history and second in three years.
Student-athletes earned the distinction of all-region by virtue of a top-25 finish at one of the nine regional championship sites this past weekend. Only student-athletes from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
Alabama Men's USTFCCCA All-Region Honorees
- After capturing the program's third South Regional individual title in as many years, Dismus Lokira secured all-region honors after clocking 29:30.8 on his way to the men's 10k title
- Victor Kiprop made the all-region list for the fourth consecutive year after running 29:34.4 to take second place
- Dennis Kipruto collected all-region accolades after recording a third-place finish of 29:42.9 to secure the Tide's second 1-2-3 sweep of the season
Alabama Women's USTFCCCA All-Region Honorees
- After securing her fifth consecutive top-two individual finish of the season, Doris Lemngole accumulated all-region honors after crossing the line only one hundredth of a second behind the event's champion at 19:30.6
- Brenda Tuwei earned all-region recognition after running 19:52.8 to take third place in her first Regional Championship
- In her first regional meet, Pheline Mining finished seventh, behind a 20:11.4 run to garner all-region honors, solidifying Alabama as the only school to place three runners in the top seven of the women's 6k race
- Freshman Addison Dorenkamp captured all-region recognition after running 20:27.6 to take 19th in her first Regional Championship
