
Doris Lemngole Named SEC Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year

The Crimson Tide’s standout sophomore runner was voted the winner by the league’s head coaches as Lemngole captured her first scholar-athlete accolade
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama cross country's Doris Lemngole was named the Southeastern Conference's 2024 Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league office announced Wednesday.
The announcement marks the first time since program legend Mercy Chelangat won in 2021 that an Alabama country runner has received the honor for the women's program.
Lemngole and the Crimson Tide begin postseason action this weekend in College Station, Texas, for the SEC Cross Country Championships on Friday, Nov. 1.
Doris Lemngole – 2024 SEC Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year
- Maintains a 4.00 grade point average, majoring in sport management
- Has finished first in all three of her regular season races this fall
- Named the 2024 NCAA Division I Cross Country Regular Season MVP by FloTrack
