The Crimson Tide’s 2024-25 schedule features two home races and two trips to the state of Florida before competing in the first-ever SEC Championships in May
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama rowing program announced its 2024-25 schedule on Wednesday, a slate that features two home races on the Black Warrior River, as well as a pair of trips to Sarasota, Fla., at the renowned Nathan Benderson Park. The Crimson Tide's season will also feature the first-ever Southeastern Conference Championship after the league announced in August the addition of rowing as the conference's 22nd sponsored sport.
The fall slate opens Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Head of the Oklahoma. Later in the fall, the Tide will host the Head of the Black Warrior River on Saturday, Nov. 9, in Tuscaloosa as Clemson and Miami (FL) come to town to close the 2024 portion of the season.
Alabama returns to the water for a dual race against Eastern Michigan, kicking off its spring season on March 1 for its final regatta in Tuscaloosa. The Tide will close the regular season traveling to Clemson, S.C. for a competition with Clemson (Feb. 14-15), before heading to Sarasota Fla., for both the Sunshine State Invitational (March 28-29) and Big Ten Invitational (April 18-19). Alabama will also trek to Oak Ridge, Tenn., twice in 2025, first for the Cardinal Invitational (March 15-16) and later for the SEC Championships (May 11).
Upon qualification from the SEC Championships, the NCAA Rowing Championships will be held May 30-June 1 in West Mercer, N.J.
