Cody earns her second SEC Freshman of the Week honor this season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball forward Essence Cody has been named the Co-Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, the Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday. The Valdosta, Ga. native picked up her second double-double of the year after a 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks performance in Alabama's 91-74 win over Kentucky.

Recorded her eighth double-digit game of the season on Jan. 28
Shot 62.5 percent from the field (5-8) and 66 percent from the charity stripe (4-6)
Has started every game for Alabama and leads the team in rebounds (6.6 rpg) and blocks (2.0 bpg)
Cody ranks fourth in the SEC in blocks (42) and 23rd in the country
Ranks 11th in the league in rebounding (145)
