Alabama’s Knox, Gemelli Named to Soccer Preseason Watch Lists

Both Felicia Knox and Itala Gemelli were named to United Soccer Coaches preseason watch list, while Knox made an appearance on TopDrawerSoccer’s Preseason Best XI Teams
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Seventh-ranked Alabama soccer's Felicia Knox and Itala Gemelli were named to national watch lists ahead of the Crimson Tide's season opener on Thursday.
Knox was selected as a member of the United Soccer Coaches Midfielders list, in addition to being named to TopDrawerSoccer's Preseason Best XI First Team. Gemelli received national attention as a transfer, earning a place on USC's Preseason Forwards list.
About The Honorees
- Knox finished the 2022 season as an All-American after leading the NCAA with a Alabama-record 20 assists
- The senior was also named the 2022 SEC Midfielder of the Year and earned a spot on the Women's College Cup All-Tournament Team
- In addition to her 20 assists, Knox also ranked 11th nationally in points (34) after scoring seven goals during the season
- Gemelli led the nation in game-winning goals, scoring seven last season for Dayton
- The forward earned A-10 All-Conference first-team honors
- She led the A-10 in goals scoring a total of 12 last year
