
McMahon Opens Phillips 66 National Championships with School Record

McMahon went 8:25.97 in the 800-meter freestyle to better her Alabama record in the event
INDIANAPOLIS – Alabama swimmer Kensey McMahon set a school record on the opening day of the Phillips 66 National Championships in the 800-meter freestyle.
McMahon reached the wall with a time of 8:25.97 to finish sixth in the event. The time bettered her 8:28.68 school-record performance from 2019.
Derek Maas will begin competition at the Phillips 66 National Championships Wednesday, competing in the 200-meter breaststroke. Prelims will begin at 9 a.m. CT, while finals will start at 6 p.m.
