
McMahon, Maas Set to Compete at 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama swimmers Kensey McMahon and Derek Maas are set to compete this week at the 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis. The five-day meet begins on Tuesday and will be used to create the United States roster for four major international competitions.

- All preliminary events will be streamed on usaswimming.org beginning at 9 a.m. CT
- Finals for Tuesday through Friday can be viewed on Peacock beginning at 6 p.m.
- A taped delay of Saturday's finals will be broadcast on NBC beginning at Noon
About The Meet
- Athletes are competing for a chance to earn a national title
- Meet will also serve as the selection for the United States roster for four major international competitions later this summer
- 2023 World Championships, 2023 World Junior Championships, LEN U23 Championships and 2023 Pan American Games
- McMahon will compete in the 400, 800 and 1500 meter freestyle over the week
- Opens competition in the 800-meter freestyle Tuesday
- The 400m freestyle is schedule for Friday and the 1500m is scheduled for Saturday
- Maas is swimming in the 50, 100 and 200 meter breaststroke
- The men's 200-meter breaststroke is Wednesday, while the 50m breaststroke is set for Thursday and the 100m breaststroke set for Friday
