
Four Alabama Women’s Tennis Members Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Anne Marie Hiser, Kasia Pitak, Ola Pitak and Petra Sedlackova were selected for all-district honors
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Four members of the Alabama women's tennis program were named to the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
It is the first appearance on the All-District Team for Anne Marie Hiser, Kasia Pitak, Ola Pitak and Petra Sedlackova.
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must at least be a sophomore academically and athletically.
The Crimson Tide Nominees
- All four nominees hold above a 3.63 GPA as Ola Pitak leads the group with a 3.93 GPA while pursing a master's in marketing
- Kasia Pitak is also pursing a master's in management while maintaining a 3.66 GPA
- Anne Marie Hiser holds a 3.74 GPA en route to her communication studies degree
- Petra Sedlackova rounds out the group with a 3.63 GPA in finance
- In the classroom, Hiser finds her name on the list as a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete. This season, the junior posted a team-leading 6-3 singles record in Southeastern Conference play and has been selected as a doubles alternate in the NCAA Championships.
- UA doubles extraordinaire K. Pitak finished her 2023 campaign with a 15-9 overall record in doubles play. Competing as a pair with sister Ola, the Pitak sisters recorded six conference wins, tied for the most by a Crimson Tide doubles unit all season.
- In singles, O. Pitak racked up nine wins in the No. 3 spot while her 14 overall wins was the second-most by a UA player during the 2023 campaign. Competing as the No. 3 doubles pairing, her and sister K. Pitak went 14-6 overall.
- Sedlackova also finished her singles play with 14 overall wins, four of which coming in the No. 2 spot. She and doubles teammate Anna Parkhomenko logged 10 total wins in doubles play, the second-most on the team.
