TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama gymnastics head coach Ashley Johnston has added Amelia Hundley to the program's coaching staff.
Hundley arrives in Tuscaloosa after serving on the North Carolina coaching staff from 2021-23, primarily as the lead bar coach. Hundley also oversaw the Tar Heels' floor choreography and assisted with recruiting, marketing and social media.
Her stint at Chapel Hill featured two consecutive team berths to the NCAA Regionals, as well as back-to-back East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) regular-season titles after posting an unbeaten, 6-0 conference record during the 2023 campaign.
As a student-athlete, Hundley was a four-time All-American at Florida (2017-20), as well as a two-time All-SEC honoree. While in Gainesville, Hundley helped lead the Gators to consecutive Southeastern Conference regular-season titles in 2019 and 2020. The following season, she served as a student assistant coach as Florida clinched its third-straight, regular-season crown.
Prior to her collegiate career, Hundley won gold at the 2012 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships as a junior international elite gymnast for Team USA. She would later claim her second and third gold medal as a member of Team USA's 2014 and 2015 Pan-American Games championship teams. In 2015, Hundley was named the Region 5 Elite Athlete of the Year.
