
Alabama’s Luisa Blanco Named SEC Specialist of the Week

The Crimson Tide senior earned a perfect 10 Friday night against Missouri
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama gymnast Luisa Blanco was named the Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Blanco competed on two events and won both event titles in Alabama's road contest against the Missouri Tigers this past Friday, scoring a perfect 10.0 on the balance beam and a 9.950 on the floor exercise. Blanco's 10.0 on the balance beam was the fourth of her career and her third this season, including her second in back-to-back meets.
The Crimson Tide returns to Coleman Coliseum Friday night to close out the regular season against Boise State at 7 p.m. CT.

- Earned two event titles against Missouri (balance beam, floor exercise)
- Has now won 16 individual titles so far this season, with five apiece on both the balance beam and floor exercise, two titles each on the vault and uneven bars and a pair of all-around wins
- Earned fourth career 10.0 on the balance beam and third of the year
- Ranked No. 3 in the nation on the balance beam (9.960 NQS) and No. 5 on the floor exercise (9.955 NQS), according to the most recent Road to Nationals rankings
