
Chelsea Igberaese, Chris Robinson Crack Alabama’s All-Time Top-10 Lists on First Day of Texas Relays

Hammer thrower Igberaese now holds the fifth-farthest mark in Crimson Tide history, while 400-meter hurdler Robinson now sits at No. 4 all-time
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – In only the second meet of the outdoor season, Alabama track and field's all-time top-10 lists have already been rewritten as both Chelsea Igberaese and Chris Robinson now sit at No. 5 and No. 4, respectively, in the record book.
On the first day of the Texas Relays, Igberaese's mark of 62.39 meters (204-8) in the women's hammer throw gave the Dacula, Ga., native the fifth-farthest throw in Crimson Tide history. The result came off her third throw of the event as Igberaese ultimately finished eighth.
On the track, Robinson clocked 50.05 in the 400-meter hurdles preliminary round to not only win his heat, but automatically qualify for the event final on Friday evening (March 31). The result is now the fourth-fastest time in UA history.
Additionally competing for Alabama was Jacob Wiggers, over in San Francisco, Calif., at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. Wiggers finished third in the 10,000-meter run behind a personal-best time of 30:11.90.

- Chelsea Igberaese finished eighth in the women's hammer throw (62.39m | 204-8). The mark is now the fifth-farthest throw in program history.
- Chris Robinson advanced to Friday's 400-meter hurdles final behind a 50.05, heat-winning run. The mark is now the fourth-fastest time in program history.
- Hailey Poole also added a top-10 performance for the Tide, finishing ninth in the women's javelin behind a 44.88-meter (147-3) throw

- Alabama will begin at 10:55 a.m. CT Friday morning in the men's 4x800-meter relay (Eliud Kipsang, Kai Crawford, Quinn Harder, Arthur Graham)
- The Tide will then race in back-to-back 1500-meter races, starting with Flomena Asekol, Macy Schelp and Keaton Morrison (3:05 p.m.). Hillary Cheruiyot, Jace Jones and Mark Shannon will follow at 3:20 p.m.
- Alabama's Brady Barton and Carter Waters will then compete in the men's steeplechase at 7:05 p.m.
- The Tide will round out the event in the women's (7:20 p.m.) and men's (7:45 p.m.) 5k race, featuring Kerri Walsh, Elka Machan, Jacob Harris, Jack Hawes, Thomas Koska, Brandon Passmann, Will Pinson, Charles Owen Walker and Collin Jones

Look-Ahead: Texas Relays Day Two | Live Results
- At 9:35 a.m. CT, Alabama will begin the second day of the meet on the track with the prelims of the 4x100-meter relays (Amari Brown, Na'Taja Ballard, Amara Obi, Chanice Spicer, Milan Fields, Jekovan Rhetta, Tarsis Orogot, Matthew Weaver and Jonathan Martin)
- Fields, Rhetta and Orogot will then immediately transition for their respective 100-meter dash preliminary races
- In the afternoon portion, Alan de Falchi competes in the discus throw that is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start
- Alabama will then compete in the sprint medley relay (Antonio Crisco, Matthew Weaver, Leander Forbes and Grady Shiflet) at 4:30 p.m.
- Chris Robinson will close day two in the 400-meter hurdles final at 5:40 p.m.
