TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 8 Alabama gymnastics team defeated Boise State 197.125-194.775 on senior night in Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide won all four events and swept all of the individual titles in the contest.
Alabama opened the meet with a 49.400, posting its second highest vault rotation score of the season. UA scored a 49.125 on the balance beam and closed out the win with a 49.225 on the floor exercise.
Lilly Hudson earned two individual titles, winning the vault with a season-high 9.950 and the all-around with a 39.475. Makarri Doggette won the uneven bars with a 9.900, her fifth title of the season on the event. Head Coach Ashley Johnston said
"Our senior class has put their heart and soul into this program, and it was really important to me to allow them to feel those emotions tonight. We have six seniors that have all made a huge impact and mean so much to this team, and I wanted them to take it all in. One of my main goals for the team tonight was to start strong. We definitely did that, starting with one of our best vault scores so far this season. We continued to carry that energy over to bars and had a good performance there. We just gave away too many tenths on beam and floor, which are things that we can correct moving forward into SECs next week. We're excited to move forward into postseason and the most exciting time of the year."
