
Alabama Gymnastics Ranked Eighth in WCGA Preseason Coaches Poll

The Crimson Tide’s regular-season slate features 10 teams either ranked in the top 26 or receiving votes
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama gymnastics is No. 8 in the 2024 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Preseason Poll, the organization announced Friday.
Throughout the regular season, the Crimson Tide will face 10 teams either ranked in the top 26 or receiving votes, including road matchups with the top-three teams in No. 1 Oklahoma (March 17), No. 2 Florida (Jan. 26) and No. 3 LSU (March 1).
Six teams ranked in the top 26 will travel to Tuscaloosa, as No. 12 Missouri (Jan. 12), No. 15 Arkansas (Jan. 19), No. 9 Kentucky (Feb. 2), No. 16 Georgia (Feb. 23) will all face Alabama inside Coleman Coliseum. No. 18 Minnesota and No. 26 Illinois will be two of three teams present for the Crimson Tide's Quad Meet to close the home portion of the season.
Along with road trips to Oklahoma, Florida and LSU, Alabama will also travel to (RV) Texas Woman's University (Feb. 19) during the regular season.
The 2024 Alabama Crimson Tide
- There are 18 gymnasts on the 2024 Crimson Tide roster, including three freshmen, five sophomores, three juniors, three seniors and four super-seniors
- Ashley Johnston, who competed for Alabama from 2009-13, is in her second season as head coach
- The Crimson Tide's lineup returns three All-Americans – Luisa Blanco, Makarri Doggette and Lilly Hudson
- There are four individual Southeastern Conference champions on this year's team: Blanco (all-around, vault, uneven bars, balance beam), Doggette (uneven bars), Shania Adams (uneven bars) and Gabby Gladieux (vault)
- Gina Quinlan returns for her third season as an assistant coach with the Crimson Tide, Justin Spring is in his second season and Amelia Hundley begins her first season as assistant coach for Alabama
